Situated in the northern suburb of Parkview, in close proximity to the Johannesburg Zoo, the Westcliff Hotel and at walking distance to the tranquil surrounding of the Zoo Lake, this quaint family run pizzeria-trattoria has been in existence for the past sixteen years.
It is not uncommon to see week after week, the same familiar faces of this Parkview dining room. Franco, assisted by his nephew, Massimo, his son Franco jnr. and at times his sister Tina has been in the restaurant business for the past twenty-six years. Prior to Franco’s, Franco worked and owned La Pizza Restaurant in King George Street in the city of Johannesburg.
The chequered red and white tablecloths together with the burned red walls lends itself to cosy eating. A feature is the wood burning pizza oven in the heart of the dining room, which continuously turns out thin based luscious pizza.
Franco’s speciality is pasta and pizza, but one can also find meat dishes such as lamb and veal on the menu and daily specials. Fish is also available, as are his famous vegetarian dishes such as melanzane parmigiana. Desserts such as Franco’s home-made winter chocolate fudge cake or summer granadilla mousse are highly recommended.

Closed on Monday’s, Franco’s is open for lunch from 12-00am to 2-00pm and again from 6-30pm to 10-00pm. Sundays till 9-00pm.
